Visa pour Chercheurs / Researcher’s visa

Le visa de recherche permet aux étrangers titulaires d’un doctorat ou d’une qualification d’enseignement supérieur qui, dans le pays où il a été obtenu, donne accès à des programmes de doctorat, de séjourner en Italie pour une période courte (moins de 90 jours) ou longue (plus de 90 jours).

Les rendez-vous peuvent être programmés via le site prenot@mi (https://prenotami.esteri.it) et le demandeur doit toujours se présenter en personne.

Tous les documents doivent être imprimés et présentés en original avec une photocopie si nécessaire.

Le jour du rendez-vous le demandeur doit présenter les documents suivants:

• Formulaire de demande dûment rempli et signé;
• Une photo couleur de format passeport, fond blanc, datant de moins de 6 mois (voir spécifications);
• Un passeport valide (et une copie) satisfaisant aux critères suivants :
  • sa validité doit être d’au moins trois mois de plus que le visa demandé (minimum 15 mois) ;
  • il doit contenir au moins deux pages vierges ;
  • il doit avoir été délivré au cours des 10 dernières années ;
  • les passeports endommagés ne seront pas acceptés.
• Copie d’un permis de séjour français valide ;
• Autorisation délivrée par les autoritées d’immigration italiennes (SUI, Sportello Unico per l’Immigrazione) ;
• Accord d’accueil stipulé avec le candidat par l’Université ou l’institut de recherche italien accrédité;
• Preuve d’un logement approprié en Italie. Les documents suivants sont acceptés :
  • contrat de location ;
  • réservation d’hôtel d’au moins 30 jours ;
  • déclaration d’hospitalité d’un individu légalement résidant en Italie, conformément aux articles 46 et 47 du DPR 349/1999, confirmant qu’ils ont mis à la disposition du demandeur de visa un logement conforme aux normes minimales établies par la loi régionale pertinente en matière d’hébergement public.
• Réservation de vol/train/bus ;
• 116 € pour les frais de visa (payement en espèces).
• Si vous ne résidez pas dans la région parisienne et que vous souhaitez que votre passeport soit envoyé à votre adresse française, une enveloppe A5 avec un timbre pour Lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception R2, 100 g doit être fournie le jour de votre rendez-vous.

Un dossier incomplet peut entraîner le refus du visa. La soumission d’un dossier complet ne garantit pas la délivrance d’un visa. Le passeport ne sera pas retourné avant la décision finale sur le visa. Le Consulat général se réserve le droit de demander un entretien personnel ou des documents supplémentaires.

The research visa allows foreigners in possession of a doctorate or higher education qualification which, in the country in which it was obtained, gives access to doctoral programmes, to stay in Italy for a short (less than 90 days) or long (more than 90 days) period.

Appointments can be scheduled through the prenot@mi website and the applicant should always appear in person. The passport will be kept until the final decision is adopted.

All documents must be printed out and presented in original plus a photocopy where required. Applicants should always appear in person.

On the day of the appointment the following documents must be provided:

1. Application form duly completed and signed.
2. One passport size color photo, white background, maximum 6 months old (see specifications);
3. A valid passport (and a copy) satisfying the following criteria:
   1.  its validity must be at least three months longer than the visa requested (min 15 months);
   2. o it must contain at least two blank pages;
   3. o it must have been issued within the previous 10 years;
   4. Damaged passports will not be accepted.
4. Copy of a valid French permit of stay;
5. Clearance released by the immigration authorities (SUI, Sportello Unico per l’Immigrazione);
6. Research agreement subscribed between the applicant and the University or by the accredited Italian research institute;
7. Proof of a suitable accommodation in Italy. The following documents are accepted:
   – rental agreement;
   – Hotel booking;
   – statement made by an Italian or foreign national legally residing in Italy, in accordance of art, 46 and 47
   of DPR 349/1999, confirming that they have made available to the visa applicant a suitable
   accommodation that comply with the minimum standards laid down in the relevant regional law
   regarding public housing accommodation.
8. A flight/train/bus booking (or itinerary).
9. 116€ for the visa fees (only cash is accepted).
10. If you do not reside in Paris area and you wish your passport to be mailed to your french address, an A5 envelope with a stamp for a Lettre recommandé avec accusation de recepition R2, 100gr should be provided on the day of your appointment.

An application without a complete set of documents may result in the refusal of the visa. The submission of a complete file does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The passport will not be returned until the final decision on the visa is adopted. The Consulate General reserves the right to ask for a Personal Interview or any additional documents.
