How to request the visa

In order to request a visa, you will have to book an appointment through the prenot@mi system. The visa application must be presented at least 15 days before the intended travel date.

  1. Application form duly completed and signed.
  2. One passport size color photo, white background, maximum 6 months old (see specifications);
  3. A valid passport (and a copy) satisfying the following criteria:
    1. its validity must be at least three months longer than the visa requested;
    2. it must contain at least two blank pages;
    3. it must have been issued within the previous 10 years;
  4. Copy of a valid French permit of stay;
  5. Previous Schengen, USA, or UK visa copy;
  6. Letter from the denominational organization proving the status of “religious” or minister of worship and the religious character of the initiative or activities that the applicant will carry out on in Italy. Declarations must be issued by the Head of the Order to which they belong, with a signature authenticated by the Episcopal Curia (or by an equivalent ecclesiastical personality present in the country or by the Apostolic Nunciature);
  7. Invitation letter from the Italian religious organization;
  8. Proof that the applicant has sufficient means of subsistence as required by the Directive of the Ministry of the Interior dated 1st March 2000, or declaration confirming the religious institution is willing to take on the applicant;
  9. Proof of a suitable accommodation in Italy. The following documents are accepted:
    1. Declaration from the religious institution stating that the applicant will be accommodated in their premises;
    2. A rental agreement;
    3. An Hotel booking for at least 30 days.
  10. A travel reservation (flight/train/bus) clearly indicating the name of the passenger and the date;
  11. Visa fee: 116€ (only payment in cash. Please bring the exact amount).

Please be aware that, at the time of your appointment, your application will not be accepted unless presented with all required documents. If any of the above mentioned items are not presented, the applicant will have to reschedule a new appointment.
